Some Peruvian (I am pretty sure?) music for you to get in to the right mood

First post of a couple from our trip to South America. This one is about our days in Lima. Later on you will be able to read about Cusco, Puno, Lake Titicaca, Machu Picchu and La Paz. All on analog film using a Contax 645, Nikon FM2 and F100.

We loved it. Lima, Peru and all it had to offer. A great and vivid country full of surprises and great food. After a long flight through Madrid we were finally there. We did not expect much from Lima. We heard both good and bad things about it, but it was non of that, it was GREAT. Lima’s historical center offers a high pulse and a “hold on to your bag” kind of feel. Not in a bad way though. Walk off in to the alleys and you will find your self feeling far away for the touristic crowd and in a true south american “HOLD ON TO YOUR BAGS!” kind of feel. Once again in a good way as that usually indicates that you are seeing the true parts of a city. ;)

Miraflores on the other hand offers a slow and relaxed feel with okay shopping and lots of good food. La Mar is a must go to restaurant with great Pisco Sours. A drink you should try when going to Peru. In the pics below you can also see some of the grilled fish we had at La Mar. Huaca Pucllana is another good restaurant where you dine viewing the Huaca Pucllana ruins lit by night.

And what ever you do, don’t miss Barranco. A more bohemian and very romantic area.
