Hi,
Last Friday I went to Stockholm for a quick visit of family and friends. It is always so wonderful to be back home. Or is it really home? I don’t know but I would like to think that a part of me still belongs to Sweden and that it is my second home.
I also got the opportunity to visit Fotografiska which is a photography museum in Stockholm. They had a lot of interesting exhibitions. Plus awesome Swedish food, shrimp sandwich and “people beer” (folköl). It’s beer with less alcohol and less good taste, but it brings back great memories from the early days of drinking back in Sweden…
I really appreciated the Marcus Bleasdale exhibition Stolen Children. If you get the chances to see it, do it!
“Since 1999 renowned photojournalist Marcus Bleasdale has tracked the LRA in Central Africa and documented the army’s reign of terror over the local population. The LRA or Lord’s Resistance Army, is a violent militia group, which is active mainly in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, and Southern Sudan. The exhibition features Bleasdale’s photographs of abandoned homes and communal spaces as well as vivid portraits of those who have suffered needlessly at the hands of the LRA. A video piece will also be on view, in which survivors of the LRA voice their personal stories of anguish and hope.”
As always I brought my camera and snapped a few pics. I tried a shift approach to capture a different way to look at the photographs(3rd to 5th photo below).
Thanks for reading.
Best,
Stefan
